Sažetak
The paper departs from the symptoms of the present state of teaching of Medical Sociology at Croatian universities. Collisions with the content of Medical Ethics / Bioethics courses, as well as with the courses of Public Health, Family Medicine, Social Medicine, and other are analyzed. Offered are comparisons with some other university programs in Europe. Suggested are the benefits of medical-sociology topics and perspectives (opening toward anthropology, etc.). Particular attention is dedicated to the experience of teaching Medical Sociology at Rijeka University School of Medicine and its results (theoretical infrastructure for local NGOs, the mobilization of public opinion by organizing round tables and panels, etc.).
