Sažetak
The book is divided into three parts – The Southeastern Border of Carolingian Architecture, dealing wit the phenomena of the Pre-Romanesque Art, and especially featuring the art of Southeastern Europe and its relation to the art of the center of the Carolingian Empire ; Romanesque Sculpture as a Public Medium where it offers an interpretation of the facade sculpture of the Romanesque and Early Gothic periods centering on the context, message, and the role of the viewer, again emphasizing the sculpture of Dalmatia and of the Pannonian basin ; and Pannonia Romanica wherein it presents an extensive summary and theoretical underpinnings of the author's research of the art of the Pannonian basin between the 11th and the 13th ct., i.e., the central theme of the research project that produced it – «The Romanesque Art between the Sava and the Drava Rivers and European Culture.” The book represents forty years of the author's research centering on the three main themes he has dealt with during that time.
