Sažetak
A check list of marine benthic flora of the Brač Island area was compiled on the basis of long-term personal collections and the sparse bibliographical data. The list included a total of 308 taxa (species, subspecies, varieties, forms and stages) of benthic algae (Rhodophyta 191 taxa or 62%, Phaeophyta 69 taxa or 21.9%, Chlorophyta 46 taxa or 14.9%) and 2 species of segrasses (Posidonia oceanica and Cymodocea nodosa). The R/P ratio of 2.8 indicates a temperately tropical flora. The benthic flora is analyzed in terms of its phytogeographical components
