Sažetak
The topic of this paper is the ethical judgment of the embryonic stem cells' scientific research methods and ways as well as a comment on the so called "therapeutic cloning". The discovery of stem cells is very significant for the medical science because it has opened a completely different approach to the treatment of diseases. New possibilities in the field of biomedicine opened up, such as pharmaceutical research, organs transplanting, Parkinson disease treatment, nervous system, cardiovascular system treatment, diabetes treatment, genetic therapy etc. Just like any other human activity that can and should be judged as ethically proper or improper on the grounds that it is enacted by humans this highly scientific human activity that deals with stem cells research is to be analysed from this point of view as well. Given that this activity affects directly human life and its well-being it is necessary to question all ethical aspects of the scientific approach to the topic which is what I will do in this paper. I will also consider the widely used term of "therapeutic cloning" starting from the question of what cloning is, what therapy is, who is the human embryo and is everything that can be technically performed ethical when, on the one hand, a disease is diagnosed with all the rights that a person is entitled to accordingly and, on the other, the human unit that is generally called "embryo" in the first phases of its existence is "not defined" by law.
