Sažetak
Accurate measuring and calculating spine mobility is very important part of rehabilitation processes for large scale of spine pathologies such as scoliosis, low back pain, etc. In praxis, confronting mobility taken from kinematic data and real data taken with x-rays usually can vary a lot because of different calculations methods and different goals. From kinematic modeling side of view, spine is very complex body what moreover restricts possible biomechanical applications. Applications of the result are usually taken for two purposes. Both are based on data comparison. First, we are comparing patient with normative data - data taken from a group of normal population without any spine pathology. As second application, we are comparing each patient with himself through the rehabilitation process. In addition we can also validate laterality in spine movement. Reliability of this applications depend on chosen marker placement that divide a spine into segments e.g. segment vectors and on calculations that have been used. Elaborated movements are continuous flexion-extension and continuous right-left lateral bending of the trunk/spine. This work will, as introduction, suggest optimal marker placement that we have established through the last 4 years and over 300 examined patients (spine is split into 6 more or less equidistant areas). In the main part it will be discussed about 3 calculation methods that can be used. Calculations will not include spine modeling than it will be restricted on vector algebra for gathering angular-based information. Results will be compared with the data quoted in the recent scientific literature.
