Sažetak
The Park of Nature “Blidinje” (PPB) spread over almost 400 km2 on the western side of the Neretva River on an attractive geological, structural, geomorphologic and hydrological features. PPB includes almost intact high montains, Vran (2074 m a.s) and Čvrsnica (2226 m a.s) round valley Dugo Polje (1180-1300 m a.s) with a Lake Blidinje as a focal phenomenon. The broader PPB area predominantly exposes the sedimentary carbonate rocks deposited during Mesozoic. In recent times it is a complex territory in structural sense, built of thick series originated as a result of multiple folding, thrusting, intensive glaciation and karstification. The regional geologic setting, topographical, structural and lithologic characteristics are crucial for hydrogeologic performance of the sedimentary rock complex. Even the average precipitations of 1590 mm/year are high, a large area of PPB lacks in water during the summer season, therefore the management of water should be improved there. Construction of any structure including the watersupply system in each area should respect due protection of environment. Vulnerability of water sources, Air and soil should be studied and defined accordingly and then proceed with designed field operations in agreement with a generally acceptable approach to vulnerability of soil, Air, groundwater and surface water. The paper presents the available date related the present use of water and suggestion for a better environmental sanitation and management of water sources in PPB.
