Sažetak
Although they have considerably enriched our knowledge of the Diocese of Epitaurum, the results of research done thus far, have not yet offered certain, adequate and exhaustive answers to numerous questions. It is not clear why early Christian sacral objects and buildings have still not been found in the Epitaurum region ; or when exactly and by whom this diocese was founded ; or how many bishops it had ; or to which regions its jurisdiction extended ; or where the site of the episcopal basilica was ; or how long it existed on the historical scene ; or how were the early Christian communities of Epitaurum and Ragusium related to each other ; or when and under which circumstances the Diocese of Ragusium, that is the (Arch)diocese of Dubrovnik, was founded.
