Sažetak
The objective of this paper is to analyse the existing situation in the Republic of Croatia regarding municipal solid waste management. The basic documents for implementation of integrated MSW management system are adopted in the last 5 years in order to establish waste generation reduction and municipal solid waste management in a sustainable manner. These documents are The waste management strategy of the Republic of Croatia, The waste management plan in the Republic of Croatia 2007-2015, and the following ordinances focused mostly on separate collection of special categories of waste. In this paper is presented the current situation regarding remediation of existing landfills, municipal solid waste system and planed integrated municipal solid waste management system in Republic of Croatia.
