Sažetak
Recantly, a novel assay for detecting early myocardial ischemia has been developed which measures reduced cobalt binding to ischemia modified albumin. The aim of this study is assessement of the colorimetric albumin-cobalt binding assay in patients with suspected acute coronary syndrome. We evaluated 66 healthy individuals as the reference group., and 110 patients with suspected acute coronary syndrome. samples were tested by troponin I and albumin cobalt binding (ACB) test. Analytical evaluation consisted of determination of within-run and between run imprecision, linearity and sample stability. Patients with evidence of myocardial ischemia and acute coronary syndrome have reduced cobalt binding capacity to albumin.
