Sažetak
The increase in the traffic demand requires an increase of traffic supply as well. In order for the traffic supply to provide quality solutions and the best possible service to its customers, the traffic forecasting and planning is needed. This paper gives an overview of the types of traffic planning and traffic forecasting methods and discuses the main areas of their application. The types of traffic planning include spatial, sector, and project traffic planning and traffic planning in companies, whereas traffic methods are divided into qualitative and quantitative ones. Over the years, quite a large and diverse range of traffic forecasting a planning methods has been developed, which renders the management of traffic planning procedure a relatively complex and difficult task.
