Sažetak
The Brioni Islands are quite remarkable for their geographic position in the Adriatic. First settlements on these islands are noticed in the middle neolithic period. In Roman times Brioni islands blosoom, and Roman period has left for us a number of impressive architecture from villas, late Roman settlement and Byzantine fort in Dobrika bay. There are also representative churches from early Christian period that were modified in romanesque, and from gothic period. The islands have indeed had an interesting history continuing in 20th century when Veli Brijun was decorated as an English park. Also they were the residence of the president in the 20th century. Today they stand as quite impressive islands with long tradition, remarcablecultural heritage and a national park famous for its beauty. The Brioni Island are a center of elite tourism.
