Sažetak
Microglial cells are considered to be the most responsive cells of Central Nervous System (CNS) to the action of immune effector molecules. When cytokines primed microglia becomes activated this may be either beneficial or deleterious for injured brain depending on the type of priming. Since JAK-1 is not just an important mediator of cytokine signaling but also critical for regulation of the intrinsic responsivness of neural progenitors to astrogliogenic factors, we have performed transfection experiments on cells genetically modified for Jak-1.
