Sažetak
Transesophageal pacing is a method of temporary pacing. If the transvenous temporary lead cannot be implanted instantly in emergency, it is a method of preference, as well as is for the prophylactic pacing in the general anesthesia. This study, performed on 13 experimental animals, is based strength-duration curve measurements of both (atrium and ventricle) cardiac chambers. It showed that transesophageal strength-duration curves are interelectrode spacing dependent for both chambers. Physiological values (time constant of exponential fit of S/D curve) correspond well with values obtained previously for external transchest pacing.
