Sažetak
The translation of EU legislation into Croatian is a vital part of the process of Croatia’ s accession to the EU. As the translation and the parallel process of transposition into national law progress, the need for new Croatian terms for EU concepts increases. This is especially true in regard to new areas of Croatian national law, such as competition law. Unfortunately, the existing translations of EU legislation are plagued by terminological inconsistency, thus undermining their reliability. The aim of this paper is to draw attention to the inconsistent usage of new Croatian competition terminology and to propose Croatian equivalents for basic EU terms of competition law. In addition to the English source terms, the German, French and Slovene terms are also consulted.
