Sažetak
Concerning the important differences in the ethiopathology of the hepatocelular carcinomas (HCC) in humans and dogs, the present work describes the results of analysis of the important tumor markers, epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFr), cytokeratine 19 (CK19), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and transforming growth factor beta receptor (TGF -r) in human and dog cases of this tumor. Investigation included 25 cases of human and 8 cases of dog tumors. All human cases were noted in the cirrhotic livers, while in dogs the tissue adjacent to tumor was not changed. In humans in two cases hepatitis B virus (HBV) and in one case hepatitis C virus (HCV) were determined. Investigation showed lack of TGF -r reaction in six cases of HCC, while in humans this receptor was noted in 24 cases. In all tumors specific hepatocyte antigen Hepatocyte Paraffin 1 marker (Hep Par 1) was positive, while cytokeratine 19 for biliary epithelium was negative. The results of investigation emphasizes the importance of tumor suppressor gene TGF -r in the development of HCC in dog cases of this tumor and in the same time aggravates its importance in human cases.
