Sažetak
In this paper, different views of others are analyzed on the basis of surveys on social distance made in Croatia and Serbia and former Yugoslavia, respectively, in a time span of a few decades. The analysis of social distance is related to three different historical contexts that reflect different political climates influencing ethnic relations. Eventually, the European identity, more properly the impact of the prospective EU membership is discussed with regard to the dynamics of ethnic’ s relations in the Balkan countries, particularly in Croatia.
