Sažetak
Imbalanced innate immunity can be a springboard for the development of various pathological conditions: tumor, autoimmune diseases, hypersensitivity as well as slower, hindered or incomplete healing, or lethal outcome during other illnesses. Regulatory T cells (Tregs) and NKT cells, as carries of innate immunity play a key role in the control of pathological immune responses. Mature dendritic cells stimulate the expression of Tregs. Treg cells exprimise perforin and granzyme, but the functional importance of this pathway is still not completely defined. NKT cells regulate antitumor, autoimmune, allergic and antimicrobial immunological response. The aim of the study: Our hypothesis about regulatory network of Treg and NKT cells, were studied on the severe change of natural immunity: on burns as example of local and systemic injuries. Results: Functional changes in regulatory T and NKT cells correlate with clinical stages, prognosis of illnesses and success of treatment of burned patients. Tne number of Trges and NKT cells was significantly decreased in patients with burn injuries and is comparable with the level of the disorders. Conclusion: These Tregs and NKT monitoring may contribute to a better treatment of patients suffering from burn injuries and pain, contributing to faster recovery and/or reducing infections in all conditions characterized by impaired organism resistance.
