Sažetak
The experiments were carried out in order to determine the dose of the vaccine against the Newcastle disease virus (NDV) required for the turkey protection during the whole breeding period. It was found that a single dose of inactivated NDV, corresponding to 10 9.0 EID50 of a non-inactivated virus, generated high levels of anti-NDV antibodies in the 16-week-old turkeys. The protective level of antibodies persisted during the whole 24-week breeding period up to the turkey age of 40 weeks. The appropriate level of specific antibodies was found in yolks of eggs hatched in the week 32 after the vaccination of breeders.
