Sažetak
This paper presents the study of lead and cadmium content in thoracic and high risk respirable fraction of airborne particles. Samples were collected at one measuring site in Zagreb during one year period (1st April 1999 - 31st March 2000). Samples of PM10 and PM2.5 particle fractions were collected over 24-hour period (noon to noon) at sampling site located in northern, residential part of Zagreb, with moderate to high traffic density. Fractions coarser than those defined by instruments collection parameters were removed from the air stream by means of inertial impactors, and the fine particle fractions were collected on membrane filters (Millipore SSWP 09025 ; AAWP 09025 ; pore size 0.8 ľm) at the average air flow rate of 70 L min-1, from approximately 100 m3 of ambient air. The results show that almost overall lead and cadmium content is found in a PM2.5 particle fraction.
