Sažetak
The paper compares flight time, flight duty limitations, and rest requirements between the regulations of ten different countries and comparing them with standard shift work schedule on board ships in merchant marine traffic. Twelve factors and identified which play a role in formulating restrictions of flight. Duration of flight duty and crew augmentation are the factors considered by most countries ; time of day, night flight, night sleep, and time zones are the factors least considered. Confirmity exists in the necessity to prescribe permissible flight or duty times and rest requirements on daily basis. Six out ten regulations define night hours, but fall to agree upon beginning, end, and duration of night duty. All countries limit flying hours on a monthly and years basis, although the limit diverges.
