Sažetak
The reason for the interest in Si3N4 application is in its mechanical properties at high temperatures: good oxidation resistance, good thermal shock and high wear resistance, high strength, low creep. All of this venders Si3N4 attractive as a new material for high temperature application. The reliability of advanced ceramic components dependent upon the microstructure and the extent of densification. These characteristics are influenced by the densification route and the properties of the starting powder. Pure, non-agglomerated and fine starting powder is a sufficient condition to obtain the ceramics of good mechanical properties.
