Sažetak
Silicon nitride is one of the most extensively studied structural ceramic materials, because of its proper high-temperatures properties. It is among the important construction materials replacing steel at high temperature and/or corrosive ambient. Owing to their good mechanical and thermomechanical properties during the past twenty years a growing application occurred in the construction of machine parts working at high temperatures. Silicon nitride is expected to become a leading material in production of mechanical parts working at high temperature and corrosion conditions.
