Sažetak
Mandibulae of small ruminants originate from Vučedol site (north-eastern Croatia), 3500-2400B.C. Archaeological excavation has been undertaken during the year 1984/85. In the most cases only corpus mandibulae is well preserved. We use premolar and molar on the corpus mandibulae for determining age of animal. Our intention was to determine species and age of the animal using x-rays and macromorphological methods. Bones fragments of small ruminants were often faund on the place excavation, although, in minority comparing with bones fragments of Bovis. sp and Suis sp. We can point out that the number of Ovis sp. bones fragments is greater than those of the middle age animals. Osteological material was found in holes which were mostly used as rubbish-heap, so we can make some conclusions about alimentation and life of Vucedol population.
