Sažetak
Modern scientific analysis of history, despite the knowlege of laws of social development, is based on the findings and authentic records. During 18-th and 19-th century, in the history of exercice and sports appears mass movments that were mutually distinguished by the goals and organizational forms, and become national sport systems, such as: German (Turner) physical exercise, the Swedish physical and health exercise, system of English sport. Croatian Sokol was promoting the work of cultural categories, such as education, morality and national awareness. Sokol had a remarkable publishing activity. We can say that Sokol holdings as part of Book Collections Fund of Croatian Sports Museum is of priceless value and importance.
