Sažetak
Compared with age-matched controls, a significant reduction of subicular neurons represent a most profound and a most detrimental deficit in AD patients, because fibers of subicular neurons constitute the 'back projections' necessary for establishing declarative long-term memories and serve as a major efferent component of the hippocampal formation.
