Sažetak
Due to its advantages over turning noted so far, the process of orthogonal turn-milling deserves a systematic research and analysis in order to give incentive to its wider application. This paper gives an analysis of the suitability of this machining process. For the purpose of a comparative estimation of the process, a set of criteria (functions) and methods are proposed and defined. On the basis of the defined set, the suitability of orthogonal turn-milling is studied and compared with turning, with special attention given to the conditions of high-speed machining.
