Sažetak
ICT are recognized as a tool of achieving competitive advantage for tourism as a whole and the hospitality industry as its inherent component. Hospitality business uses ICT daily to improve internal efficiency through Internal system and communications with customers and partners through Internet and extranet. The purpose of the paper is to underline the role and effects of networks i.e. Internet, internal system (intranet) and extranet on performance activities in hotels. The expectations are that above mentioned networks can improve quality of business activities in upscale hotels as well as in small independent hotels. In other words, networks can benefit each member (hotel) of hospitality industry by managing their communications and interaction with external world (Internet), internally (intranet and internal system) and with trusted and regular partners (extranet). In order to get important data for the empirical part of this paper a survey within Split region hotels will be carried out. The results of the survey will be useful to observed hotels by providing critical information to management to assist in deciding weather a hotel should strategically invest in network infrastructure or not and in determining specific areas of focus for network investment.
