Sažetak
The need for collaboration between the scientists and the industry has been recognized by the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering many years ago. The IFMBE Industry Working Group moderates the efforts to harmonize the interests of large industry, small and medium scale enterprises, univeristies and research only insitutes ad the field of biomedical engineering. Today, no single university, research organization or industry is able to solve complex problems which challenge BME researchers on its own. None of these organizations is able to fund this highly demanding research and therefore a proactive cooperation of universities and industry is necessary for high quality research. The IFMBE, as the world largest network of biomedical engineers is an idel platform for collaboration between research and industry.
