Sažetak
In last twenty years the number of flights at the busiest airports in the word has doubled, which in the meantime has led to a situation in which runways and taxiways (manoeuvring areas) cannot follow such substantial increase. As the result, many airports could not use their capacities in the full range in terms of handling passengers and cargo. With the implementation of the Advanced Surface Monitoring and Control System (A-SMGCS) the aircraft taxiing time could be significantly shortened and could be determined more accurately , which would have positive impact on the flight timetable.
