Sažetak
This Business plan is prepared for the establishing a new company named “ Ekotehnika” d.o.o. Sunja. The main reason for establishing the company is to start wooden pellets production. The wooden pellets are a type of renewable or “ biofuel” which is use for heating of buildings or as energy source for some other productions. This plan is prepared for the company’ s internal purposes. Parts of it will be used for creditors because the new investment will be financed by a loan. Although external and internal assessment, financial analysis and organizational structure are prepared for the whole company the accent through all chapters is made on wooden pellets production segment. The reasons for this structure of the plan are: • wooden biopellets production is relatively new segment in Croatia ; • organizational structure – establishing a new company. Company will be established in Sunja, 70 km south from Zagreb, on the area of special national care (war area during the 1990s). It means that company has a large taxation benefits. The factory will be constructed 200 m from the regional road Sisak-Bosnia and Herzegovina and 500 m from loading terminal of the railway station. It is situated near lumber mill owned by one of the partner whose are establishing Ekotehnika. There are several lumber mills in radius of 30 km with large quantities of sawdust as a waste. This wooden sawdust is ideal raw material for the pellets production. It is planned to invest in biopellets factory constructed by the German company “ Amandus Kahl ” . The total cost of an investment will be EUR 700, 000.00. The investment includes: • constructing plans and all necessary licenses ; • preparing the land for business ; • constructing the buildings • constructing the factory ; • the factory start-up and instructions for staff ; • truck for sawdust ; • dredger for loading. The production capacity will be 1 ton of pellets/hour, what is 7, 000 t/year (very conservative prediction). The investment will be financed by a loan from the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development with interest rate of 2.00% with repayment period of five years. Croatian biofuels (renewable fuel) market is not developed yet. Western European market is well developed with stabile prices and growing tendencies. Total production of Ekotehnika in first years will be export to Italy and Austria on average price of EUR 155.00 per ton at the “ Ex Works” parity. After developing Croatian market, the new evaluation will be made to decide which market to approach and to define a new marketing strategy. Croatian and regional biopellets market will develop in following years. Its rise will be politically supported with Government subventions for using renewable energy sources. Strategic company goals are: 1. Organize successful business of biopellets production: • Building of new, modern factory of biopellets ; • Organize a production process ; • Establish relationship with external services for supporting biopellets business ; • Establish a good relationship with foreign and domestic buyers of pellets ; • Establish a good relationship with other Croatian and foreign pellets producer to share experiences and potentially cooperate in mutual approach to the market ; • Increase business efficiency. 2. Upgrade its business into new branches: • to construct factory for producing electricity from wooden waste from the local lumber mills ; • to organize glasshouse production with usage of heat from the electricity production (a smaller part of burned waste is processed to electricity, while the bigger part transform to warm gas) ; • to establish collecting area for biomass waste from the local lumber industry. For accomplishment of these goals, it is assumed stabile production of quality pellets and corrects marketing strategy – direct negotiations with foreign wholesalers and development of good and strong partnership relations with foreign buyers. Also, implementation of business and production process optimization in order to reduce costs, and correct human resource strategy is found very important. From profitability aspect, it is important to secure the quantities of raw material to continue maximum production which leads to profitable business. After repaying the loan (5 years) profitability of this production will increase for approximately EUR 150, 000. “ Ekotehnika” has ambitious and flexible management with great business connections (important for purchasing raw materials). Area where the factory will be located has a high rate of unemployment what is a great advantage in the age when is difficult to find enough labour. Lot of domestic population are former soldiers during the war in the 1990s. Employing them brings to “ Ekotehnika” several benefits for taxation of their salaries. “ Ekotehnika” will be strongly committed to its employees. It will take a special care for its organizational behaviour. In general, after reviewing all facts and figures there’ s no doubt that investing in wooden pellets business is a right strategy for establishing company. Its young, ambitious, but also skilled management with competitive advantages of type of business and the location of the modern factory ensure that company’ s goals will be achieved.
