Sažetak
The development of intermodal water transport characterize the lack of harmonization and the possibility of establishment an inter-operative transport system in terms of functionality, information and administration. The research in this paper will prove significance of integration of water transport system including technological activities, technical and human resources establishing door-to-door transport that is qualitatively and quantitatively evaluated (efficiency, flexibility, sustainability). The technical and technological features reflect the specification of technical performances of the system, by market restrictions, forecasts of the volume of traffic demand and traffic supply in the near future. With this paper, authors intend to increase the safety and flexibility of transport, reduce the impact of transport on the environment and improve the performances of transport and to harmonize water transport with the aim of establishing door-to-door transport. In the context of improving the compatibility and competitiveness of transport networks, increase in traffic safety and environmental protection, the integration of sea transport and waterborne traffic in the European transport networks represents an important segment of economy development.
