Sažetak
This paper discusses the organisation of administrative tasks planning in government administration. The discussion encompasses the need for planning, as well as planning criteria and tasks. The rational planning model is compared to that of political decision making. Good planning organisation in government administration can contribute to the following: rationalisation of government administration, simplification of territorial organisation of government administration, elimination of the functional overlap between tasks, rationalisation of the operation of state and local government and self-government (municipalities, towns and counties). Contemporary requirements that government administration has to meet include participation, responsibility, efficacy, emphasis on the role of citizens and civil society, as well as transparency, all of which can be accomplished through good management. One of the prerequisites of good management in government administration is planning organisation. In the final section of this paper an organisational model and the importance of planning tasks in government administration are presented on the example of administrative organisation in the Croatian Government Administration system.
