Sažetak
There have traditionally been vivid discussion of advantages and disadvantages of small and big banks in financial systems. Small banks have usualy been one of the major suppliers of credit to small and midle size companies. On the other hand side, bigger banks have always been involved in broader array of banking products and services. The goal of this article is to study practise and to try to find enough evidence to support an automatic associations between bank size and profitability. Author would analyze the case of Croatian banks. The idea is to examine development of different bank size and their profitability ratios. Key words: small banks, big banks, profitability
