Sažetak
Composites of single wall carbon nanotubes (SW CNTs) with organic molecules are very interesting for use in organic optoelectronic devices, e.g. solar cells and LEDs. The organic molecules can be encapsulated in the CNTs or can interact with their surface by π -stacking interactions, which creates favorable conditions for energy or charge transfer after optical excitation. In this study we investigate composites of organic molecules and SW CNTs by UV/Vis absorption, steady state and time resolved fluorescence spectroscopy and resonant Raman scattering. A high spectroscopic resolution is obtained by solubilizing the CNTs in water using bile salts as surfactants, which yields individually dissolved CNTs. Composites of paramagnetic molecules and SW CNTs are studied by electron paramagnetic resonance. The g-anisotropy and hyperfine interaction of these molecules are very sensitive to environmental changes such as the encapsulation of molecules inside the nanotubes.
