Sažetak
Extremely large, high-frequency sea-level oscillations occasionally occur in some bays of the east Adriatic. In the two – Vela Luka and Stari Grad Bays – high-resolution measurements of sea level were performed during two summer campaigns: 15/06 – 14/09/2006 and 13/07 – 04/09/2007. The measurements were made with pressure probes placed on the sea floor, at four locations along each bay. Simultaneously, air pressure was also monitored in the bays. During the surveys several episodes of strong seiches were recorded. Preliminary analysis of the data collected has shown that in Vela Luka Bay at the two outer stations peaks at 35.0± 1.1 and 25.3± 0.1 min and a broad energy maximum at 17.8 – 20.9 min are seen ; additionally, oscillations of 11.6± 0.3 and 8.0± 0.2 min period are observed at the two inner stations, the energy being strongly enhanced at the closed end. In Stari Grad Bay four distinct energy maxima, at the periods of 36.1± 0.7, 24.8± 1.0, 10.2± 0.1 and 8.3± 0.2 min, are resolved, the latter two being observed only at the two inner stations.
