Sažetak
This paper deals with the cumulative contribution of climate, vegetation, soil cover and epikarst zone to the generation of spring discharges and water budget in bare karst areas. The cumulative contribution is studied by means of correlation and spectral analyses which are applied to the time series of rainfalls, spring discharges and groundwater recharges. Goundwater recharges are estimated by using a groundwater balance approach where the karst aquifer functioning is simulated by the conceptual model consisting of two linear and a nonlinear reservoir representing vadose seepage, vadose flow and shaft flow. The results of the investigation show that, depending on the vegetation and climate, the soil cover and epikarst zone can influence significantly the generation of the karst spring discharges. Because of evapotranspiration, the soil cover and epikarst zone act as an attenuator that reduce the energy of the input signal at all frequencies.
