Sažetak
The paper investigated Croatian foreign trade of poultry products with Mediterranean countries over the period 2002-2006. Analysed were the value of export and import of poultry products, its share in Croatian total foreign trade exchange, principal importers of Croatian poultry products as well as exporters. Statistical data from the Croatian Bureau for Statistics were used in analysing. Data were processed by standard mathematic-statistical methods for economic analyses. In that period, the total Croatian export value of poultry products was 105.2 million US$, while the value of import was 87.1 million US$. Foreign trade exchange of poultry products was carried out with 14 Mediterranean countries. The export value of poultry products in those countries was 52.3 million US$, what was 49.8% of total export value of Croatian poultry products. The greatest importers were Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Serbia and Montenegro. The main export products were poultry meat and poultry meat processing. The import value of poultry products was 27.8 million US$ or 31.9% of total Croatian import of poultry products. Slovenia, Italy and France were the main exporters. The most significant imported products were poultry eggs and poultry meat processing. The foreign trade balance of poultry products with Mediterranean region was positive over the entire research period.
