Sažetak
The paper deals with intermodulation distortion caused by nonlinearities of wideband CATV amplifiers. The frequency distribution of amplifier output spectrum components was simulated on the basis of computer calculation. The intermodulation products and the harmonics were investigated, with different signal levels, and linear and "tilted" amplifier loadings. The amplitudes of IM products are very sensitive to input signal levels. Using slope controlled signal before passing the amplifier output stage, the amount of RF energy passed through the unit can be reduced, and the distribution of intermodulation distortion products of the amplifier can be improved.
