Sažetak
Silicon nitride is one of the most extensively studied structural ceramic materials, because of its proper high temperature properties. Additionally silicon nitride is often used in electronic industry as well as for the engine construction parts. It is characterised by a high fracture strength, a wear resistance, a thermal shock resistance and is stable in oxidising and other corrosive environments, which are renders it suitable for the refractory and engineering application at high temperatures. Its high temperature properties e.g. strength and thermal shock resistance are advantageous at the demanding requirements. Also, higher operating temperatures that can be applied so resulting in lessened fuel consumption. It is generally required tah for a high quality refractory silicon nitride products, a finely dispersed silicon nitride of high purity is applied.
