Sažetak
The study dealt with work motivation of Croatian highly-educated employees, as those who should be at the front line of their companies in the Knowledge age, in order to provide recommendations for management on how to improve their levels of motivation, and give direction to HR experts which motivation policies and practices to implement. According to findings, Croatian highly-educated employees perceive that many regular motivation strategies are insufficiently present in their companies, they are generally not satisfied with motivation strategies applied, and they are significantly less satisfied with provided motivation strategies than they find them important. Furthermore, they perceive nonmaterial motivation strategies more present, they are more satisfied with them than with material ones, and assign greater importance to those strategies. Finally, findings indicate that there are no differences in work motivation between Croatian highly-educated employees with different characteristics.
