Sažetak
Estrogen (ER) and progesterone receptors (PgR) are measured routinely in breast carcinomas because of their important prognostic implications. Dextran-coated charcoal method (DCC) has been considered as standard for ER and PgR quantification, but recently the IHC method on formalin-fixed tumor tissue has been strongly accepted. The aim of the study was to compare the results of DCC-ER and DCC-PgR assays with the ER and PgR status determined with IHC, on 53 primary operable breast carcinomas. For ER the results of both methods were in agreement in 43 cases (81%), for PgR concordant results were observed in 29 cases (55%).
