Sažetak
There is a great contrast between the number of lacertid lizards in the western coast of the Adriatic and on the eastern coast (4 : 13 species). A review will be given of distribution along coast, and observations about habitats; the causes of the current spatial distribution will be discussed, as well as the protection of the island and other isolated populations of lizards.
