Sažetak
The paper describes a method of coating which combines two different methods of producing the layers. The first layer is Al2O3 produced by plasma spraying with thickness of around 200  m which was deposited on the stainless steel (EN X22CrMoV121) substrate. After that, ZrO2 layer was deposited on the Al2O3 coating by a sol-gel process using dip coating technique. The dip coating process was performed four and eight times respectively in order to see the influence of number of layers and annealed at three different temperature (400º ; C, 700º ; C and 1000º ; C). In experimental work, coating produced by this method were tested on micro-scale abrasion, scratch testing and ball on disc test. The result shows that sol-gel ZrO2 layers decrease coefficient of friction and wear factor determined by ball on disc test.
