Sažetak
Opioid receptors, highly expressed on cells of central nervous system, were also found on cells of hematopoietic origin, but at much lower density. In this study we have examined transcriptional expression of mu-opioid receptors (MOR) on HL-60 cells of myelo-monocytic origin, at their basal state. Functionality of the MOR on these cells was examined by following Ca++ mobilization triggered by selective agonist of alkaloid (morphine) and peptide (endomorphin-2) structure. The data obtained have shown that cells of myelo-monocytic HL-60 line, at their basal state, express MOR both at the level of mRNA and at the level of a functionally active protein capable of transmitting intracellular signals via Ca++ upon ligation with selective agonists of alkaloid or peptide structure.
