Sažetak
Professor Albin Brnobić, MD, PhD, retired head of the University Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Zagreb University Hospital Center and School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, departed this life on June 25, 2007. Albin Brnobić was born on August 10, 1916 in Markovac near Višnjan in Istria, where he completed elementary school. Then he attended high school in Zagreb, graduated from it in 1937, enrolled in the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb in the same year and graduated from it in 1943. He served his internship from 1943 to 1945, and then worked as a physician at state-owned hospitals in Petrinja, Labin and Rijeka. In 1946, he started working as assistant at University Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Zagreb University Hospital Center. Following due residency, he passed specialist exam in dermatology and venereology in 1950.Professor Albin Brnobić was one of the founders (1952) and active member of the Section of Allergology of the Croatian Medical Association (CMA) ; he held the position of secretary of the Section and of the Yugoslav Association of Allergologists. He was member of the CMA Academy and was presented the Pavao Ćulumović Award by CMA. He was also member of the Institute of Medical Research, Zagreb University Hospital Center, and served a number of social functions. The rich opus of Professor Brnobić clearly shows that he was a versatile dermatologist-venereologist, lecturer and professional in allergology and many other fields of dermatology and venereology, actively engaged in practical and theoretical undergraduate education at Zagreb University School of Medicine and School of Dental Medicine, postgraduate and resident education as well as in medical high school education. Professor Albin Brnobić had a systematic, hardworking and precise personality, which qualities he also expected from other professionals working at our Department. As Professor Brnobić was my teacher, I am grateful to him for all the good he taught me.
