Sažetak
In agriculture, livestock farming and other production systems it is very important to have good yield estimation in early stages of production. This issue was analyzed by Singh in 1992 with the application of ordinary logistic function. Based on data, provided by Agronomy Division of Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, related to dry matter quantity and ear weight on m2 in wheat and rice fields for the period starting from six weeks after seeding up to harvesting, estimated was upper asymptote of logistic function. This was basis for yield estimation. Later, this assessment would be used for comparison with actual yield data after the harvest. This paper presents several options for selection of growth models together with efficient method for parameters assessment representing yield estimate. This methodology is used for making more realistic growth models, and therefore it is assumed that yield estimates will be more accurate which leads to better economic effects in agricultural production and livestock farming.
