Sažetak
Nitrogen dioxide concentrations were measured during two-day winter periods in indoor and outdoor environments, and were compared with personal exposures in 17 cities in 13 countries. Personal exposures were found to vary greatly among the array of countries, with mean concentrations ranging from 11 ppb to 50 ppb, depending on the prevalence of exposure sources in the indoor and outdoor environments. These data will be used to establish a relationship between indoor and outdoor concentrations and personal exposures, given activity patterns of individuals across the countries. This study methodology and participating organizations can be used with numerous other indoor air pollutants, in order to assess the impact that differences in home composition, activity patterns, and outdoor levels can have on personal exposure to a variety of pollutants.
