Sažetak
New information technologies and solutions are taking more prominent roles in the realisation of a higher degree of road transport safety. Congruous with efforts to achieve high level of road transport safety, several issues need to be emphasized: the importance and necessity of a unique system of monitoring and recording road safety parameters, selection optimisation of transport route, precise geo-spatial location of traffic accidents on road network, etc. One of the system and project solution that give these possibilities is GIS (Geographic Information System). Offering the fast and precise location of traffic accidents on road network, the system is the significant instrument for realisation of decisions and undertaking the adequate removal measures. In terms of the GIS complexity, in this paper are considered and analysed all relevant elements, telecommunication infrastructure and programme solutions which are integral parts of that system.
