Sažetak
Clinical reports have shown that the intracoronal bleaching technique may induce cervical root resorption. Excellence protective barrier is essential to prevent resorption. The ideal barrier should protect the dentinal tubules and conform to the external epithelial attachment. A 48-year-old female patient was admitted to our Department because of discolored maxillary left central incisor. Radiographic examination showed external/internal root resorption in cervical region with insufficient root canal filling. Conservative endodontic nonsurgical root treatment was performed (step back technique and laterally condensed cold gutta-percha). After canal obturation the access cavity was cleaned and a protective barrier is placed 1 mm incisal to the corresponding external probing of the epithelial attachment. Multilayer- protected technique was used (glass-ionomer cement + calcium hydroxide paste + sodium perborate-water paste). In-office (a paste of 35% hydrogen peroxide and sodium perborate) and walking bleaching procedure were performed (a paste of 3% hydrogen peroxide and sodium perborate left inside the coronal part of the tooth and temporary restorations was placed). After third in-office bleaching treatment calcium hydroxide paste was applied and after seven days final composite filling was placed.
