Sažetak
Polyelectrolytes have been used for modification of MMT for several decades, but they were never considered as modifier for nanocomposite preparation. Cation exchange of MMT with polyester hydrochlorides results in increased interlayer distance of MMT layers. It increases with PHCl/MMT ratio up to 1:3 while at higher ratios it remains constant. The effect of the acid chain lenght on interlayer distance is of only minor importance, while the influence of side chain is more significant. The influence of PHCl/MMt ratio on the quantity of PHCl bound to MMT will be determined by TGA.
